Anyone can write anything on a Resume
A shocking report from 400 hiring managers and 400 applicants
Vanakkam!
Enna pa, last week Documenting eppdi panradhu nu paathom la…
Indha week, Documenting oda mukkiyaamaana matter enan nu pesalaam ah?
Adhukku munnadi, a small fact for you all…
After surveying 400 hiring managers and 400 applicants, here's the truth about resumes: 78% of applicants were found to have lied on their resumes!
Shocking, right?
Unethical thaan, but how can a recruiter know whether they are true? Avanga enna pannuvaanga paavam. Resume la irundha nambi thaana aaganum?
Puriyudhu! Unga mind voice kekkudhu - “Appo ennoda skills la inimel waste ah?”, “Nammalum edhunaalum resume la mention pannikkalaam ah?” nu thaane yosikkureeenga?
When it is unethical, even when many are doing it, it doesn’t mean that we can also do the same! No, Never!!
I’ll tell you why.
The survey was made in 2022, and the recruiters have opened their third eye now.
Yes, an eye that seeks more than just what’s on the paper. “Nettrikkan, huh?” 😂
Here’s the new rule in town: Proof of Work > Words on Paper
Proof of Works are the Future of Resumes
Enna Future uh? it’s already the Present now in most of the companies.
They could be even called as Resumes 2.0
Naalaikku interview ku porappo, recruiters will ask, “Show me what you’ve done” and definitely not, “Tell me about your skills”.
That’s why documenting and showcasing your work publicly isn’t just important; it’s a game-changer.

Seri, you now know why you should document online, right? Last week newsletter la read panniruppeenga. illena, first read that, and then continue pannunga.
But, documenting oda mukkiyaamaana matter eh Proof of Work thaan.
Yen na…
1. Action > Buzzwords
Employers don’t care about “proficient in” and “team player” type tags. They care about real results you can show them.
2. Better Portfolios = More Credibility
When you add tangible things like — projects, designs, case studies — your portfolio becomes a goldmine of trust. Adhu la thaan unga proof of work.
Otherwise, their mind voice would be “ivana nambalaam ah vendaam ah nu theriyalaye“

To build that goldmine of trust — credibility you need to ensure having your proof of work ready.
3. You will attract Opportunities
Show your Proof of Work online. People who need your talent will start reaching out to you. I mean, why chase when you can attract?
Future uh, seri! But eppdi Start panradhu?
Adhellam simple thaan. There are three aspects to this.
Documenting the progress from scratch — Build in Public
Step-by-step how you reach that milestone of every feature
Showcasing your final work in public, so that everyone can see

Nothing big, take the first baby step today!
Pick one small project you’ve done recently.
Write about it.
Post it online.
Make this a habit. Every week or at least every 2 weeks, one post. That’s it.
Imagine 1 year from now, your portfolio will speak volumes about your work, with proof. You won’t even have to say “I’m good at this.” Recruiters will know.
A Quick Share from My Journey
Most of my opportunities I’m receiving today is because of my Proof of Work that I documented online. Starting from my first club IT Association in SRM Univ (back in 2014), until our Think Digital’s current growth. Ellame, it was possible only because of me documenting my proof of work online. Be it, a workshop I conducted, or a club that we build as a community, or a mentorship insights I do for a student.
Your Work > Your Resume
What’s stopping you? Take that step today.
Pick that small project you’ve done recently, and write about it.
