Vanakkam Boys & girls,

It feels very personal, writing to you after a loooooooong time.

Oru maasam aagiruchu, laโ€ฆ

Unmai ya sollanum na, in my whole career history, office work ku ivlo effort potadhu indha last one month la thaan.

Appram I had a couple of feedbacks from my previous letter โ€”ย

Correct thaan. Some people tend to take quick actions and might miss coming back for the second half. Another one wasโ€ฆ

Hehe. Oru news letter ku evlo neram thaan spend pannuveenga? Most ah zone out aagirrom laโ€ฆ So, keeping this letter a bit short.

Yen na, feedback thaana namakku ellameโ€ฆ

Seri, matterukku varuvom!!

How many times have you stopped yourself from talking about your skills just because you feel you're not โ€œgood enoughโ€ yet?

โ

News flash: Nobody is perfect. And nobody expects you to be.

The key? Own your skills. Talk about what youโ€™ve done, what excites you, and how you solve problemsโ€”even if youโ€™re still learning.

Hereโ€™s how to start (as usual, advice illa โ€”ย pure relatables and actionables, at least for most of you, hehe)

Simple ah solanum naโ€ฆ Stop waiting to feel "ready" ๐Ÿ™‚

You learn while doing mattum thaan.

Oru Kutty storyโ€ฆ

When I was in 3rd year, I started learning Ionic & Angular (to develop mobile & web apps) through their official documentation. The more I read, the more I feared - โ€œenna da idhu, ivlo irukka? When am I going to start building my first appโ€œ nu.

But, there is always a section - โ€œBuild your First Ionic/Angular Appโ€. I simply went there and started. There was a prerequisite of installing a couple of packages before starting.

Nalla mutti modhi, I took 2 days to complete it. I didnโ€™t just install the necessary packages; but also understood what exactly was โ€œnpmโ€œ and how they fancily print stuff and fetch inputs via CLI (athaan, namma command line or terminal window is also called as CLI - Command Line Interface).

Then, I just copied and pasted the commands step by step, and finally, I had a boiler plate version of my app.

Appram enna, idhukku mela building on top of what I had. I took a scenario of Money Manager, and named it as โ€œTransfer Walletโ€œ โ€” publish la pannanum nu yosikala, but it did the basics in my local system.

Leter, kutty kutty projects pannittu, group ah sendhu SRM Connect nu oru Events App pannom, and then appdiye Freelance kooda pannen with what I knew.

Every time I hit a blocker, I google โ€œHow to โ€ฆ.โ€œ avlothaan. Itโ€™s going to be simple to figure out.

Adhuvum, ippo in this AI era, tools like Perplexity are going to spill you the best resources along with straightforward answers, whenever you are stuck.

Seri, en kadhai ah vidungaโ€ฆ unga kadhai ku varuvom!!

Here are 3 ways in which you can show your confidence despite knowing lessโ€ฆ

โœ… Talk about the projects youโ€™ve worked on.

You built a basic website? Nice! Donโ€™t downplay it with, "Oh, itโ€™s nothing big." Instead, share the process โ€”

๐Ÿ‘‰ What did you build?๐Ÿ‘‰ What challenges did you face?๐Ÿ‘‰ How did you overcome them?

Even if itโ€™s a simple college assignment, explain it like itโ€™s a case study. "We had to build a to-do list app, but I made mine sync across devices!" Thatโ€™s how you show ownership.

โœ… Share your learning process.

Me taking 2 days to install a couple of packages eh oru example thaan.

Even if you are figuring out graphic designโ€ฆ

Write about it. โ€œTried Canva today. My first design looks like a disaster, but hereโ€™s what I learned about color contrast!โ€ ๐ŸŽจ

When you share (document), you attract like-minded people.

Maybe your random LinkedIn post about debugging code?

Someone might DM you saying, โ€œBro, I faced the same issue!โ€ - avlothaan!! Network gets building there without even trying.

โœ… Show how you solve problems.

Whether itโ€™s coding, content creation, or even negotiating with your hostel warden for better WiFi (relatable? ๐Ÿ‘€), document the journey.

Simple! Got stuck on something? Share how you fixed it.

โ€œIdhellam ah bro, panradhu?โ€ nu kekkama, poiye panni paarunga! Thatโ€™s where you start.

You know what? People donโ€™t follow โ€œexpertsโ€. Unmailaye, no one likes โ€œexpertsโ€œ. Peope love to meet, speak and connect with people who figure things out as they go. Be that person.

Because, by becoming an expert โ€”ย you just limit your boundaries. Seriously!!

Yaaru sonna nu theriyalโ€ฆ but a quote for youโ€ฆ

You won't believe me, but Confidence beats Preparation!

Letโ€™s be honest โ€” The best candidates arenโ€™t always the most prepared. Theyโ€™re the ones who walk in with self-assurance.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "Pakka va prepare pannen bro, aana sodhappiten" โ€” I've heard this many times.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "Perusa answer pannala bro, but oru nalla feel irukku kidaichirum nu" โ€” I've heard this also many times.

Think about it: 2 students apply for the same internship, seriya โ€”

โœ… One has perfect answers but doubts themselves.

โœ… The other knows theyโ€™ll figure things out, even if they donโ€™t have all the answers.

Who do you think will be selected?

Of course, the one who radiates confidence ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Because, the first one - "enakku full ah theriyaadhe" nu Ellam therinja thaan oru new project accept pannuvaan.

The second one - "edu paathukkalaam" nu oru 50% therinja kooda, project eduthutu figure out pannikkuvaan!

๐Ÿ“Œ Thatโ€™s why I say your journey toward becoming a self-governing individual starts in college.

In the real world, it's not about being the most prepared.

It's about believing in yourself enough to step up. ๐Ÿš€

Now, enough of wisdom. Itโ€™s time to act up on it.

๐Ÿง™โ€โ™‚๏ธ Hereโ€™s Your Task
